At Whoosh Explore Canoe Club they offer canoe courses and adventures for all ages and abilities throughout the year.
The adult only classes that they offer include paddling sessions for fitness, taster sessions and pub paddles for an opportunity to meet like minded paddlers.

The proprietor, William Sunnucks, who grew up on Mersea and learnt to sail there, says : “It’s good to see such a range of activities on the water, and the demand for open water swimming has been a special surprise.

There is a lake house which provides changing facilities and a refreshment area.
Plus, there is an outdoor seating with a view of the lake, ideal for people who want to watch the action on the water!
To canoe on Mersea Boating Lake you need to bring your own equipment – hire is not possible.
