Sheringham Little Theatre Presents The Wizard of Oz

Sheringham Little Theatre Wizard of Oz – On Thursday evening Asa and I were invited along to the preview evening of The Wizard of Oz at Sheringham Little Theatre, and it was hilarious!

We have been to Sheringham many times (usually with two giant newfies in tow and we spend all day with people coming up to make a fuss of them!) but we have never been to the theatre, and after watching the performance, it definitely won’t be the last time we visit, its such a beautiful, intimate theatre, you literally feel part of the show.

Fly over the rainbow this Christmas and defy gravity with this exciting pantomime The Wizard of Oz.

Join Dorothy and Toto as they go on a magical adventure from Sheringham to the Land of Oz.

Along the way she makes new friends with the Scarecrow who longs for a brain, the Tin Man who really wants a heart and the Cowardly Lion who is desperate to be brave and have some courage.

Dorothy needs to find her way home, but it’s not going to be easy with the Wicked Witch of the West keeping a close eye on her! Will the Great and Powerful Oz and Glinda the Good be able to help?

From the team who brought you last year’s sell out success “Robin Hood”. This spectacular, colourful story is packed with hilarious jokes, dazzling dance routines, toe tapping tunes, glittering scenery, cheeky Munchkins, immersive entertainment and plenty of fun for all the family!

So, tap your heels three times and say “There’s no place like Sheringham Panto!”

What Did We Think of The Wizard of Oz ?

We absolutely LOVED it! Its a very small theatre and I was curious how an entire pantomime would work, but it was just perfect, you actually felt like you were part of the show.

We were sat in the second row, which it seems is the perfect place to sit to get covered in bubbles and water! If you are looking for a show with lots of interaction and audience participation, then this is definitely the one for you!

The cast of six were outstanding, they sang, they danced, they made lots of local references that had the audience roaring, and their costumes were excellent.

The dancers merged in with the cast and provided the essential extra characters like munchkins, crows and flying monkeys, their dance routines were great and they used the small space to perfection.

I really enjoyed Cinderella at Norwich theatre, its a huge production with lots of special effects but it definitely didn’t have the personal feel of this theatre, and I laughed out loud more on Thursday evening.

So if you are looking for a fun, family-friendly pantomime, then this one is DEFINITELY the one for you!
