Twig Or Treat At Bewilderwood

On Sunday we were invited to Bewilderwood Norfolk to experience their new Halloween themed event Twig or Treat at The Glowing Lantern Parade.

We booked the 5.30pm slot, which meant it was dusk as we arrived and the temperature had started to drop, both boys chose matching Dinosaur costumes to get into the Halloween Spirit, we saw lots of skeleton costumes and very cute pumpkins!

When you arrive you will be directed to park by a member of staff, then head over to the left of the Car park to the Bewilderwood Greeting Gate. (great for a family photo opp!)

Head down the path to the booking desk, where you will be checked in

You will then be directed to the lantern collection, where you are able to choose your lantern and light colours.

There are toilets and a food kiosk, plus a lovely pumpkin photo opp, whilst you wait to enter the Twig or Treat trail.

And then its time to enter Twig or Treat!

Once you walk through the door you are transported to a beautiful lit trail, full of pumpkins, bats, lights, storybooks, and of course the Bewilderwood residents, see if you can spot a Twiggle or a Boggle as you explore!

We were booked for the 5.30 slot, it was still quite light when we first arrived, so it was lovely to see how the landscape changed as the night crept in!

After you have walked through the light trail, you can stop for refreshments at the cosy cabin, (I definitely recommend a hot chocolate, if the weather is chilly!) then take your seats at the Storytelling Stage to find out all about the trouble Swampy has been having with the Bewilderbats.

After you have heard the Twig or Treat Tale, then it is time to continue your adventure and go and shout Twig or Treat to all your favourite Bewilderwood friends and maybe get a little treat at the end!

What Did We Think Of Twig or Treat ?

We took along the three youngest children, aged 11-15 and they all enjoyed the experience, they have been visiting Bewilderwood since they were small so are very fond of the characters, and the light displays were stunning.

It definitely isn’t just a young persons experience, although the smaller children were much louder when answering questions during the show, and when arriving at the doors to shout “Twig or Treat!”

If you are looking for a beautiful light display with a halloween theme, without all the scares, this is definitely one to consider, it’s a great family Halloween Night Out that the children (and adults) will love.
