Location : Blackfriars’ Rd, Great Yarmouth NR30 3BX

The town that rose from the sea… Great Yarmouth looked very different in Roman times, it wasn’t here!

The estuary where Great Yarmouth is now, was an important shipping channel and two roman forts were built at nearby Burgh Castle and Caister-on-Sea.

Over the Easter Holiday event days, we’ll have the chance to meet either a Roman or Iceni character and learn lots about the Roman settlers and soldiers as well as the Iceni people that lived in Norfolk.

We’ve also got some real Roman coins to handle as well as a craft and more activities!
