What Is The Eat Out To Help Out Scheme?
The Governments Eat Out To Help Out Scheme will take place between 3rd to 31st August 2020 on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On these days you can benefit from a 50% discount on food and non alcoholic drinks up to £10 per diner.
With so many amazing food outlets in the Great Yarmouth area, I thought it would be sensible to list all of the establishments taking part in one place!
Can Anyone Use The Scheme?
In short, yes everyone can access the scheme when dining out in a restaurant/cafe that have chosen to take part.
How Does Eat Out To Help Out Work?
You will receive 50% off up to the value of £10 per person, including children, the discount will automatically be discounted on your bill and the outlet will be reimbursed from the government. The discount includes non alcoholic drinks and it can be applied with other discounts running, but do check before you place your order that these discounts can be deducted too.

- Workplaces and school canteens
- Dining areas within member’s only clubs
Takeaways are not included in the offer. All diners in a group of any size can use the discount.
How Many Times Can I Use The Eat Out To Help Out Scheme?
Unlimited! Each time you eat out, you are helping a local business to continue trading, and with Great Yarmouth a tourist destination, they need all the business they can get during the Summer Season.
Will The Discount Apply on Bank Holiday Monday ?
Bank Holiday Monday is on 31st August, which is within the dates, so YES you can take advantage of the offer on Bank Holiday Monday.
What About Children’s Meals ?
This one has caused quite a few challenges, as everyone has interpreted it differently, but here are the facts.
Most children’s meals will not cost £20 to gain the maximum saving, but you will be able to claim that saving, as the 50% is taken off your entire bill, not per meal, so if you are going out for a family meal 2 adults 2 children and the total price of the meal is £50, with no alcohol, regardless of what the children’s meals cost, the price you will pay is £25.
