Norwich Theatre Celebrates Norwich Pride

Norwich Theatre celebrates Norwich pride with drag brunch and free entertainment

To celebrate Norwich Pride, Norwich Theatre will be holding an extravaganza of pride activities on 29 July! There will be entertainment for the whole family before and after the Norwich Pride march. Guests will be welcomed by Norwich’s own Zoe Promiscuous and Pfizer Manelli for a morning of laughs, food and cocktails to get you in the carnival mood.

To kick the day off, Norwich Theatre’s in-house restaurant Prelude will be holding a Drag Brunch from 10am. Dishes include bacon and pancakes, the delicious creamy mushrooms and spinach on toasted focaccia and a poached egg, or why not get tempted by Belgian waffles with fried chicken!

From 12 noon, the party sashays to the Long Bar, where the compères will host the free afternoon acts. Expect performances from Mx Anna Key, Elfie Elixir, Henri Magik, Kylie M’Hoe, Mitchel Phillips, Niall Dignall Music, Sadie MasoKisst, Stealia Jobs and Zalea Kween.

The bar will serve an amazing array of cocktails, but if you prefer something softer, Café Royal will open all day. The Café will serve hot and cold drinks and pride-inspired treats, which are also available to take away.

Norwich Theatre Royal’s balconies provide the perfect spot to watch the march, which kicks off at 1pm from City Hall. The balcony near the Octagon Lounge will be available for anyone with access needs to view the procession.

Chief Executive and Creative Director of Norwich Theatre, Stephen Crocker, said: “We are proud to be an official ally organisation of Pride because it shares so many of our own values of inclusion and welcome. We look forward to celebrating the 15th annual Norwich Pride and hope lots of people come along, get involved and share the love of creativity in our Norwich Theatre community.”

Speaking about the events, Zoe Promiscuous, said: “I can’t wait to get the party started at Norwich Theatre Royal. Expect an extravagant celebration with lots of fun, creativity and entertainment!”
