There are so many amazing days out in Great Yarmouth, and many of them can be found along the Golden Mile, including The Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach with its Wooden Roller Coaster that was built in 1932 and is still operational today, definitely one not to miss, or maybe its Log Flume whose spray can be felt whilst walking along the promenade. Further along the mile you will be able to visit the penguins and the vast array of Marine Life inside the Sealife Great Yarmouth, one of the great indoor activities Great Yarmouth has to offer, if you happen to be visiting on a day when the weather isn’t so great (it does happen occasionally!)

North Drive is home to the Burlington Palm Hotel, with 70 bedrooms and five conference rooms, not to mention the only hotel in the area with an indoor heated pool, its a great place to enjoy your holiday. If you are travelling with your older teens, the Andover House Hotel and Restaurant caters for residents aged 13+ and offers 27 en-suite rooms. The Imperial Hotel offers 39 individually styled bedrooms, many with sea views, it can be found opposite the newly refurbished Waterways, there are quite a few more but these three are some of the best hotels in Great Yarmouth.

If you are looking for a self catering option, with plenty of entertainment to keep the children occupied, they will love the choice of caravan holidays in Great Yarmouth, Haven Seashore can be found at the Northern end of the Seafront, opposite the Sand Dunes, and Parkdean Vauxhall Holiday Park is located close to the train station as you approach the resort of Great Yarmouth.

There are a couple of camping sites in Great Yarmouth including Vauxhall Holiday Park, which has all of the entertainment but providing your own accommodation obviously works out a cheaper holiday. If you are looking for a unique camping experience in Great Yarmouth, how about camping directly next to the racecourse, yes the Camping and Motorhome Club have a site that at Great Yarmouth Racecourse, it’s a surreal experience pitching up next to the barrier where the horses usually run! There are lots of places to visit near Great Yarmouth, if you are an animal lover you could visit Thrigby Wildlife Park, Fritton Owl Sanctuary, Africa Alive or Banham Zoo, all within 20- 60 minute drive from Great Yarmouth. If you are looking for different beaches to visit, there are some amazing ones to choose from, including Hopton, Scratby, Hemsby, Winterton. My favourite one has to be Gorleston Beach. Great Yarmouth is great for lots of things to do, but if you are just looking for a golden, sandy beach with a few cafes and ice-cream shops, then Gorleston is your place, last year they opened a new Splash Zone, which the children will adore. The wonderful thing about Great Yarmouth is that as well as the seaside you also have the stunning Norfolk Broads to explore by foot, or boat.
